The Aliotti Mansion, which was built in Buca by the Italian-born Aliotti Family, one of the families who came to the Ottoman Empire from Europe in order to establish a business by developing trade relations, unfortunately did not survive until today. With the death of businessman Aliotti, it was sold to Hasanağa, one of the powerful notables of Ödemiş, and then the Aliotti Mansion was completely destroyed by the fire that broke out years later.
Are you ready to listen to the sad story of Aliotti Mansion, which is located in Hasanağa Garden, one of the most important green areas where Buca breathes, and turned to ashes in the fire in 1931?

The Aliotti Family, who lived in Chios for a while in order to start a business before coming to Turkey, decided to settle in Izmir in the following years. In Izmir, rich Levantine families had the Aliotti Mansion built to live in Buca, where their summer houses are located. The garden of Aliotti Mansion, which was built in the area where Hasanağa Garden is located today, covered a whole area.
The garden of Aliotti Mansion, which is thought to have been built by the Aliotti Family in the late 1800s, was open to visitors seven days a week. At the first stage, when Aliotti Mansion was being built, the thought was to have a very large garden, a small zoo and a nice landscaping work with various plant trees. As a matter of fact, this was achieved in Aliotti Mansion and Aliotti Mansion was built in a forest within acres of land.

An unprecedented landscaping work was carried out in the garden of Aliotti Mansion, where mulberry trees were placed mutually.
Within the Aliotti Mansion, which gained a great reputation at that time with its mulberry tree-lined roads, an unprecedented area was built with a tiny zoo consisting of animals never seen before in İzmir, famous bowers, mulberry tree paths, recreation areas and garden landscape in general. After a while, Aliotti Garden started to be talked about more than Aliotti Mansion, and families in Buca flocked here.
After the death of businessman Aliotti, Aliotti mansion and garden were bought by Sarıgöllü Hasanağa, one of the powerful figures of Ödemiş, and changed hands. Hasanağa wants the Aliotti Garden, which it was before, to be open to the public and keeps the garden open at all times for the benefit of all the people of Buca.
Aliotti Mansion, which will take the name of Hasanağa Garden after a certain period of time, turns to ashes in the fire in 1931 and Sarıgöllü Hasanağa returns to Ödemiş and donates the land completely to the public.

To summarize the arrival of the Aliotti Families, who also lived in Karşıyaka and Bornova, to Turkey, the Aliotti Family, who came to Izmir from Italy at the beginning of the 19th century, expanded their businesses and companies rapidly by working with thousands of small producers in Western Anatolia.
For a while, the Aliotti Family reached such a point that the Oriental Carpet Company they founded suddenly became the largest carpet company in the world. It was thought that at least 30 thousand people worked at the factory when the Aliotti Family, which shipped products from Australia to North America, was the world’s largest carpet company.
