Barff Mansion, built by the English Barff Family, one of the wealthy Levantine families of Buca, was built in the 19th century. It is estimated that it was built at the end of the century. Buca Barff Mansion, located in the Adatepe neighborhood of Buca, is also known as Eylül Mansion among the people.
Buca Barff Mansion, was also used by the Backer Family, a British Levantine family, used by the Barff Family until they left Turkey in 1956. Barff Mansion, welcomes visitors with a private ornamental pool and a large garden, is built on a two-story structure. Barff Mansion with stained glass windows, chandeliers made of specially glass and a large balcony on the mezzanine floor was acquired by Dokuz Eylül University (DEU) in 1987 by combining the divided plots.
Eylül Cafe, which was also used as the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences and the Institute of Social Sciences in the past, served as Eylül Cafe of Dokuz Eylül University for one period. The wooden terrace on all the facades of Buca Barff Mansion has the character of a house with eaves borders, stone jambs, corner erasures, floor borders and characteristic elements in Buca. The Barff Mansion with its original fireplaces currently serves as a Museum of Vexillology and Turkish Flags.
The Museum of Vexillology and Turkish Flags, which is a first in our country, has been offering an extraordinary experience to its visitors at the Barff Mansion, known as Eylül Mansion, since september 9, 2020.
In the Barff Mansion, had the flags and symbols of Turkish states and world civilizations in the past, in four different halls, a children’s workshop was established specifically for children to spend time with. Eylül Mansion, is expected to switch to the open archive application in the future, will open the archive of the museum to the access of researchers and enthusiasts from all over the world with the open archive application.

Located in Buca Adatepe Neighborhood, Barff Mansion welcomes its guests as Dokuz Eylül University Vexillology and Turkish Flags Museum between 09.30 and 17.30 on weekdays. Eylul Mansion, is closed to visitors on weekends, also closed on public holidays.
