Global Village Festival, organized for the first time at Buca Pond Facilities on September 5, 2021, with the cooperation of Buca Municipality, BUCAMAR and AIESEC İzmir Branch, is a colorful event where volunteers who come to Buca to organise a social responsibility project from foreign countries introduce their own countries to the guests who come to Buca Gölet.
AIESEC, originally abbreviated as “Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales” in French, continues its activities in Turkey with the official name of “Turkish Economic and Commercial Sciences Students Internship Committee Association”.
With the cooperation between the Izmir Branch of AIESEC, which is called the largest youth organization in the world, and Buca Municipality, 21 volunteer young people from 6 countries discovered Buca and contributed to Buca at the end of the training they received.
At the end of this voluntary work, at the Global Village Festival held in Buca Pond Facilities, volunteer students prepared traditional dishes of their own countries and had them taste the visitors who came to the event area.
Country-specific promotional films were staged on the stage set up at the Pond Facilities, and students performed in the festival area with their traditional dances and songs. At the close of the event, the well-known Balkan music group Shukar Muzika gave a concert.
