The International Balkan Festival, the first of which was held in 2013, gives a colorful respite to the social life of Buca every year. The International Balkan Festival, in which the longing for the Balkan culture is relieved with plenty of food and drink in terms of gastronomy and plenty of music, is organized by the Municipality of Buca every year in the taste of a festival in different areas of Buca.
A different concept from the previous year can be seen every year at the International Balkan Festival, which is dedicated to the memory of a deceased person every year. In the Balkan Festival, which focuses on the Balkan culture in general, the revival of ceremonies such as engagement or henna or various activities such as folk dances are just a few of the details of the festival.

The winners of the cooking competition held as part of the International Balkan Festival are determined by the member chefs of the Izmir Chefs Association. Dozens of people compete in the main course, dessert and pastries in the cooking competition held in 3 different categories.
