Buca Kaynaklar Village, whose historical background is not fully known, is a place of attraction known for its spring waters taking their source from at the foothills of the Nif Mountains, a 15-minute drive from the district center. It is about 4-5 degrees cooler than the city center. The village of Kaynaklar has become popular in recent years due to its nature and camping activities, and a respite stop for those who want to get away from the city life, especially on weekends.
Although the exact history of Kaynaklar Village remains unknown, it is believed that it has a history of about 200 years with those who came during the exchange period and before. After the destruction caused by the Typhus disease that spread in the surrounding villages, the name of the village, which became Tahtalı due to the houses made of wood by the survivors of the disease, remained the name of Kaynaklar Village over time due to the rich water resources. Previously, Kaynaklar Village, also known as Dambeli was used for the cultivation of old Buca grapes and olive cultivation due to its wetlands.

Buca Kaynaklar Village, crowded with visitors nowadays especially with the popularity of mountaineering, camping and nature walks, is located at an altitude of about 900 meters above sea level. Kaynaklar Village, a neighborhood of Buca Municipality with the Bütünşehir Law, has one of the best rock-climbing destinations in Turkey with more than 200 rock climbing routes.
One of the most important qualities of Buca Kaynaklar Village is that it has five centuries-old plane trees. As a result of the inspection carried out by the Natural Assets Protection Board in 1994, it was registered that the plane tree is at least 1025 years old in this village square called Çınaraltı. It has also been registered that the tree is at least 30 meters tall and 4 meters in diameter. Next to this 10-century-old tree called Kunduracı Çınarı Nature Monument, there are 4 more at least 5-century-old sycamore trees side by side.

A local producer’s market is also established on certain days of the week on the Çınaraltı Square of Buca Kaynaklar Village, where people getting away from the city center flock to breakfast and hiking trails, especially on weekends. Those who buy their vegetable and fruit purchases at the local producer market and prefer coffee in the village square are usually the young and middle-aged people.
